A Former Board Member's Perspective:

The Downtown Pregnancy Center is a ministry that is terribly effective. The Bible tells us we will know Jesus followers by their fruit. By this measure, the DPC is a productive fruit producer. As a board member, I review the ministry’s numbers bi-monthly. Not only are the DPC staff directors great stewards of limited resources, but bottom line: The Lord uses the DPC to save babies and lead women (mostly) to Christ. It is an honor just to be a part of this organization.

I would encourage you to support the DPC for three very good reasons:

1. In 2008, over 200 babies’ lives have been saved from abortion.
2. They exhibit excellent stewardship.
3. Many women – and their boyfriends – come to Christ. This is a direct investment in the Kingdom of God.

We happen to have one of the very best volunteer groups in the nation!

As the saying goes, “It’s not bragging if it’s true!” Our DPC volunteers are such a dynamic

and dedicated group of individuals that they were recognized in 2008 by the President George W. Bush.

Daniel Kline:

Daniel began volunteering with his wife, Maria, on the Wednesday evening shift in 2007. He has the opportunity to visit with the boyfriends of clients while they wait on their girlfriends to have a pregnancy test and counseling. Daniel first heard about the Downtown Pregnancy Center during a ministry presentation at his church and felt a definite calling from the Lord to become involved in helping to start a men’s ministry at the DPC. He is bold in sharing Christ and has led many men and women to trusting Jesus as their Savior.

Daniel states, “My favorite part of being at the DPC is being used by the Holy Spirit for the furthering of His Kingdom. I enjoy having the opportunity to have a positive impact on men’s and women’s lives in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Joan Brown:

Joan has volunteered with the DPC since February, 2001 when she heard about the DPC at a Women’s Missions Fair at her church. Joan serves two different days of the week at the center, wearing a different hat on each day. She volunteers Tuesday afternoons as a consultant, meeting with clients and counseling them on their pregnancy options and sharing the gospel. On Thursday mornings, she leads one of our weekly Bible studies for new believers. Joan loves to volunteer at the DPC because, “the DPC is a wonderful mission where God is very much active. If a person never led anyone to a profession of faith, this is the place to be! At the DPC you will be fulfilling Matthew 28:19-20.”
